There are many local and online services you can access without needing an appointment with GP.

Minor Illness Services

Pharmacy First enables community pharmacists to supply prescription-only medicines, including antibiotics and antivirals where clinically appropriate, to treat 7 common health conditions.
What conditions can be treated?

• Sinusitis
• Sore throat
• Earache
• Infected insect bites
• Impetigo (a bacterial skin infection)
• Shingles
• Uncomplicated urinary tract infections in women.

If you require medical attention for any of the above, you can approach your local pharmacy for care and avoid the need for an urgent care appointment at the surgery.

IAPT Sheffield is a service that offers free courses and one to one talking therapies for people 18 years and older living in Sheffield for help with stress, anxiety and worry or low mood.

Door 43 offers support to 13-25 year olds on a range of emotional wellbeing issues. They offer several services including: a drop in, one to one support, wellbeing cafes and social prescribing spaces and can support young people with lots of different things they may need advice on or are struggling with.

Sexual health and contraceptive Services

Sexual Health Sheffield offers services for contraception, STI screening and treatment, PrEP and emergency contraception.

Sexual Health Sheffield also run a walk-in youth clinic for anyone 18 years or under for information and advice on any sexual health issues, contraception and support. This service is open Mondays and Wednesdays 2pm – 6pm at Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Entrance 11a, B road.

MSI Reproductive Choices is a service who can provide early medical abortion, surgical abortion, STI screening, contraception & counselling across South Yorkshire.

Their treatment centres offer the following services:

* Face to Face Early Medical Abortion, or the abortion pill (up to 9 weeks and 6 days gestation)

* Surgical Abortion (up to 23 weeks and 6 days gestation)

* Telemedicine up to 9 weeks and 6 days (abortion pill by post)

* STI screening, including HIV testing (as part of TOP treatment)

* Contraception advice and fitting post abortion

* Vasectomy

Women’s Health

This Sheffield Teaching Hospital services is for help and advice for women with bladder, bowel and prolapse problems by giving them pelvic floor exercises and advice on healthy bladder and bowels to improve their symptoms and quality of life. They aim to prevent or alleviate the physical and emotional stresses of pregnancy and labour, and help the postnatal recovery.
