New Urgent Care Triage System

Posted on:

From Monday 3rd June 2024, the Surgery is offering a new urgent care system. ‘Triage’ is a system a GP surgery uses to assess urgent patient requests. The information you provide is assessed by the urgent care team to determine how urgent it is and who is best placed to fully assess and manage your request.  The urgent care team consists of Doctors and Advanced Nurse Practitioners.  The aim is to reduce waiting times and improve patient access to care.

Urgent Care

Please submit all urgent requests via the online form available on our website, or via a telephone call where you can speak to a Receptionist. This service is available from 8am Monday to Friday.

Your urgent care request will be added to the triage list and you will receive a response as soon as your request has been assessed that morning. Depending on the nature of your request, you may be offered an appointment to attend the surgery, a telephone consultation or another service from the practice.

Once we have reached the maximum number of urgent requests, no further urgent requests for that day can be made.

Non-urgent Care

Non-urgent requests such as routine doctor and nurse appointments, blood tests, smears, prescription requests and general enquiries can still be made as before. Please note, these requests can also be made online.

Please bear with us while we settle into this new system.
