Repeat Prescriptions

For some years NHS Sheffield Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has worked with White House Surgery to provide a Prescription Order Line telephone service for ordering repeat medication. This service was set up as a test service and has only been available to a few volunteer Sheffield general practices and their patients, including White House Surgery. The CCG has formally looked for an NHS provider to extend the Prescription Order Line to all general practices in the city but unfortunately has been unable to find one that meets the right criteria.
Therefore, as we are unable to provide equal access to this service for all Sheffield patients, the CCG has taken the difficult decision to stop providing the Prescription Order Line to White House Surgery patients from 30 September 2021.
We understand that this will mean a change to how you can order your repeat medication and we and the CCG would like to know how this will affect you and what support you may need to order your medicines in the future.
Please tell us about how this will impact you by completing this short survey:

Alternatively you can use our online system, drop it into surgery or post it us (please allow longer for postal orders, if you wish for your prescription to be posted back please send a stamped self addressed envelope).

Please allow at least 2 working days notice when ordering a repeat prescription. We need to make sure we process these orders carefully and thoroughly. Patients who arrive for their prescriptions earlier than 2 days, may be asked to come back.

We can send your prescriptions onto a local pharmacy of your choice. If this is something you would like to sign up to please speak to a member of reception, alternatively you can ask the pharmacy to sign you up to electronic prescriptions. This means once your prescription is processed we will electronically send it straight to the pharmacy of your choice.

We also have an on site pharmacy called Well Pharmacy, who will be happy to you with your prescriptions and medication queries.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.

Could you please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions. If you are unsure who you need to see please ask the receptionist who will be happy to help.

Medicines Management

The Practice may conduct Medicines Management Reviews of medications prescribed to its patients. This service performs a review of prescribed medications to ensure patients receive the most appropriate, up to date and cost effective treatments.
